Advanced Postnatal / Breastfeeding support workshop (Course code APBSed1)
(pre-requisite study; SatCBAed04 or with recogition of prior learning upon application)
This has been designed to offer Doulas / Childbirth Attendants an insight and skills to assist families during the postnatal period.
Topics include;
Why Breastfeed?
Infant led attachment
Optimal attachment
Steps to successful breastfeeding support
Increasing milk supply
Breastfeeding after a c-section
Breast and nipple care
Antenatal preparation
Dealing with blocked ducts
Mastitis, prevention, signs and symptoms
Why is baby crying?
'The arsnic hour'
Gentle attachment parenting
Baby sleep cycles
Settling baby
Co-sleeping
Baby wearing
